Jul 01, 2015·By the way, this tastes amazing when out camping! After lunch the sun broke out and the park really started to shine. Wood was very abundant throughout Woodland Caribou and it was time to get out the sawvivor camping saw. The fire pit at this campsite was so cool because it was right near the landing on the West point on the lake.

Sawvivor vs Laplander Saw | BladeForums

Jun 03, 2010·Folding saws will get more use time since most of my sawing tasks are small. For larger saw tasks, the Sawvivor is the right tool for the job. Folding saws and larger Sawvivor/Sven type saws are different tools for different tasks. I carry in my large kit both the Sawvivor and the Silky.

Backpacking saw | Survivalist Forum

Jan 05, 2012·The sawvivor is very nice, but it weighs close to a pound. That's a lot of weight for something that gets used rarely, if at all. For backpacking, the weight is worth far more than the convenience. The blade pictured above is about 18-19", providing more versatility in cutting.

Sawvivor = Browning Takedown Saw | Bushcraft USA Forums

Oct 11, 2017·USA. Oct 10, 2017. #1. Today was a great day! One of my favorite pieces of backpacking gear is my Sawvivor. Thing cuts like a chain saw, especially when your buddy is sawing. do you carry an axe while backpacking? | Survivalist Forum

Aug 17, 2011·I sometimes carry my Sawvivor saw when backpacking (very light and portable), but generally do not carry an axe simply because of the weight...unless of course I'm backpacking in a base hunting camp or winter camping with my portable wood stove. In those instances, I definitely bring my Sawvivor saw, along with a SOG Hand Axe.

Best Saw for a backpack? | BladeForums

Oct 08, 2010·The Gerber will get the job done, but in twice the time as a REAL folding saw would. I like the Pocket Chainsaw, but you gotta get a REAL one, not a cheapy version. Look for the rivets to be flat or as low to the links as you can get, or else you're wasting your money. The Gerber was cheap and takes up less space, IMO, than the Sawvivor.

SAWVIVOR vs BAHCO LAPLANDER Bushcraft Backpacking Saw ...

Aug 20, 2010·It is more difficult to assemble (especially when you haven't done so in a year), but it works like a full sized buck saw and allows you to process 8-10" logs like a champ. Folding saws are really best for 4"-<6" logs in my books. Sure the latter size range is good enough for most circumstances.
